Constitution of Board of Management

In every notified area having more than one unit there is a committee called "the Board of Management" appointed by the Government. The Board of Management consists of the following members.

  • The President of the Industries Association of the notified area.
  • The Hon. Sectretary of the Industries Association of the notified area.
  • Two members other than the above as may be nominated by the Industries Association of the notified area.
  • One representative of industries as may be nominated by GIDC.
  • One representative from amongst the local residents as may be nominated by the Board of Management.
  • Two officers not below the rank of Assistant Manager or Deputy Executive Engineer as may be nominated by GIDC.
  • One officer not below the rank of Assistant Manager or Deputy Executive Engineer nominated by GIDC as the Chief Officer and Secretary to the Board of Management

Further guidlines on selection of above members are adhered to clause (2) of Rule 3 of Gujarat Industrial Development (Notified Area) Rules, 2007

Notified Areas

Under Government Notification Industries Mines & Energy Department and in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 16 of the Gujarat Industrial Development Act, 1962, (Gujarat XXIII 1962), the Government of Gujarat with effect on and from the dates of their publication in Government Gazette declared that the provisions relating to Notified Area as contained in Chapter XVI-A of the Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963 (Gujarat 34 of 1964) and other provisions of the Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963 Section 2, 5, 44(i), 64 to 93, 105 to 264, 267 to 270, 271 subject to the restriction that no rule shall be made in relation to the matter covered by Clause (b) of Sub-section(i) of Section 264 – B, 272, 273 and 275 to 280 and Schedule II to IV shall extend to and be brought into force in the following industrial areas and further directed that the provisions of the Gujarat Panchayat Act, 1961, (Gujarat VI of 1962) which were in force in the said industrial areas shall cease to apply thereto.
